Welcome to the Pelvic Mesh Lawsuit Center
Our mission is to educate women who have undergone pelvic mesh surgery regarding the history of pelvic mesh products, the complications that have become all too common and the legal remedies available to those who have been seriously injured. In addition to the latest information, we offer free access to our highly experienced Patient Advocates (PAs) who are available at any time to answer all your questions.
History of Pelvic Mesh Products
Pelvic mesh products have been around for more than 20 years. The purpose was to provide a cure for conditions that include Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) and Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP). Research clearly demonstrates that these products were inadequately tested, frequently failed to fix the problems for which they had been created and, worst of all, created a nightmare of significant health issues that often leaves patients in far worse health than they were before they were given this “cure".
FDA Warnings/Product Recalls
In 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning suggesting that the problems with pelvic mesh products were rare, yet potentially serious. Within three years, the FDA was forced to retract the statement regarding the frequency of problems as complaints regarding these products exploded. In June of 2012, Johnson and Johnson's Ethicon division withdrew most of its pelvic mesh products from the market, and a short time later C. R. Bard stopped selling its Avaulta mesh product.
As of 2013, many thousands of women have filed suit against the manufacturers of pelvic mesh. Several multi-million dollar verdicts were rendered in the early part of 2013. That suggests the injuries and the damages caused by these products are being viewed with outrage by jurors, who have been informed as to the history of the products and the careless testing that proceeded their introduction into the market.
Should You File Suit?
Litigation is not for everybody. Some people, no matter how badly injured, feel uncomfortable pursuing a monetary recovery against a third party because they do not wish to appear greedy or to be somehow taking advantage of their injuries. We are not here to urge that you file suit. Our goal is simply to educate you about the facts and let you decide what is best for you and your family. Please feel free to communicate with our PAs today. They have a wealth of cutting-edge information to offer you at no charge. Further, if you are interested in talking with an experienced pelvic mesh attorney, you can get an immediate free consultation. Get the facts, and then decide!
